UGC NET Archaeology Old Exam Pattern

Till November 2017, UGC NET in Archaeology consists of three papers, i.e. paper-1, paper-2, and paper-3.

  • Paper 1 was general and compulsory for all subjects,
  • Paper 2 and paper 3 were based on Archaeology.

However, from June 2018, UGC NET in Archaeology consists of only two papers, i.e. paper-1 and paper-2 (merging the previous paper-2 and paper-3 into the current paper-2).

So, students are requested to go through previous paper-2 and paper-3 to better prepare themselves for the current paper-2 in Archaeology. UGC NET examination in Archaeology was conducted by the University Grants Commission (UGC) till June 2014.

However, from December 2014 to June 2018 UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) examination was conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), and from Dec. 2018 onwards, the UGC- NET is being conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA).
